Dreary Dayz

Snowing and raining for the past five days. The soil is mushy and it looks like I'll be wearing rain/snow boots for the next few weeks.

One of our outdoor cats Henry has fallen sick, probably because of the weather. He has been curled up in his insulated cat house since yesterday. I got him to eat a kitty vitamin today but he doesn't have his usual voracious appetite. If he doesn't perk up in the next day or two maybe we'll have to take him to the vet. But it's probably just a cold.....hopefully.
Looking forward to the sun.

Dave's 40th Birthday

Dave turned 40 on Tuesday. We spent the day transporting our buddy Benson from Animal Farm Foundation to Saddleback Pet Services in New Hampshire. It took about 4 1/2 hours one way but we stopped in Greenfield, MA on the way there for a pit-stop. Dave wanted to stop there because that is where his Vipassana meditation center is and he likes to feel the vibes.....

Benny was a good passenger and slept most of the time. When we got to NH he made himself at home and jumped on the couch and tore up a stuffy toy. I hope he gets adopted out soon and that in the summer they take him swimming. Benson has a great cannon ball.
On our way home we had a birthday dinner in Brattleboro, VT at Shin-La, a Korean/Japanese food restaurant that somehow I make it to every 4-5 years. We had vegetable mandoo and jap chae. Yum! Wish there was a place like that closer to us.
Happy Birthday!

Did you know where watermelons come from?

This is a simple but beautiful documentary shot in 1955 about people living in the Kalahari Desert.
